The Roof
2022
ASA, Sem 6
The proposed pavilion for HOTA transcends architecture into a new dimension, void of structure, solely focused on the happenings beneath. This is architecture as a verb, over what is commonly a noun.
It aims to be an existential experience, like no other before seen in architecture. The hovering form appears to have come from another dimension, as our conscious immediately questions its presence.
In its simplest form, The Roof is a geometric blimp, featuring a helium filled bladder and lightweight construction to achieve weightlessness. Using propellors hidden in each corner, it can be manouvered remotely by person or computer.
