Dynamische Buhne
Bauhaus Museum Dessau
Meyer-Grohbrügge, 2022

A winning proposal for a reprogramming of the ground floor of the Bauhuas Museum in Dessau composes of a family of autonomous elements that perpetually re-define the spatial qualities and usage throughout the day as to suit a variety of functions.
Though technologically complex, the simplicity of the form and movement form a undefinable magic.  Taking inspiration from Moholy Nagy’s Light-Space-Modulator, the design captures the spirit of the Bauhaus’s innovation and the embracement of new technology to inspire new design oppurtunities. It aims to become an attraction in itself as visitors watch and interact with the elements, a mesmerising experience.
The system comprises of three archetypes of automated elements, all of which speak to and complement each other as if they were creatures in symbiotic unison.
From our research, this will be the first time AGV technology has been applied in architecture, opening new boundaries for a dynamic, personalised, reactive architecture.
